Reds Lose Late, 2-0
|
San Francisco Giants starter Joe Blair led his team to victory over the Cincinnati Reds, 2-0. The right-hander was locked-in. Blair got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. He allowed no runs. San Francisco is now 15-16.
San Francisco won the game in part because of Donnie Watson. The center fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Giants ahead, 1-0. For the game, Watson had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I had one goal in mind," said Blair. "Keep pounding the zone."
